Tomakomai head-on collision leaves two dead and one injured

A head-on collision between a passenger car and a trailer in Tomakomai, Hokkaido, resulted in two deaths and one serious injury. The accident occurred around 9:20 PM on August 24 on a prefectural road in the Mizawa area.

The passenger car was completely destroyed by fire. The driver, a man, and a 33-year-old female passenger from Sapporo died in the crash. A two-year-old girl in the passenger seat sustained serious injuries, including a broken left leg. The driver of the trailer, a man in his 50s, sustained minor injuries. Police are investigating the possibility that the passenger car crossed into the oncoming lane.
