Trump shares images of proposed White House drone base
U.S. President Donald Trump has shared images on Truth Social depicting a potential military drone base on the roof of a proposed White House banquet hall. The images, which some observers suggest may be AI-generated, show large drones and armed personnel stationed at a facility labeled "DronePort."
This follows a ruling by the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals that has halted construction of the $400 million banquet hall. The court ruled that the administration cannot proceed with such large-scale construction on federal property without explicit Congressional authorization. The lawsuit was brought by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. While construction on the banquet hall is suspended, work on underground bunkers and military medical facilities is permitted to continue.
