Colombian singer J Balvin and Argentine model Valentina Ferrer have officially confirmed the end of their nearly decade-long relationship. Ferrer announced the separation via Instagram, stating the decision was made with “love, respect, and the desire to do what is best” for their family and their son, Río.

The breakup has sparked significant social media controversy following claims by Mexican influencer Melanie Pavola. Pavola alleged she had a romantic encounter with Balvin in New York between 2020 and 2021, a period during which Ferrer was pregnant. Pavola issued a public apology to Ferrer, claiming, “both of us were lied to.” These allegations have not been confirmed by Balvin or Ferrer.
