J. Cole cancels Sacramento concert after fatal crew member truck crash

Rapper J. Cole canceled his scheduled August 27 performance at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California, following a fatal accident involving a member of his touring crew.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred shortly after 6:00 a.m. on southbound Interstate 5 in Yolo County. A semi-truck transporting production equipment from a previous concert in Seattle overturned after drifting onto the right shoulder. The driver, identified by the Yolo County Coroner’s Office as 66-year-old Jarlath Parkinson of Jackson, South Carolina, was the sole occupant of the vehicle and died at the scene. Authorities are investigating potential causes, including driver distraction or fatigue, though no definitive cause has been determined.

Golden 1 Center and Live Nation issued statements expressing condolences to the crew member’s family. Fans who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster will receive automatic refunds, while those using third-party resellers are advised to contact their original point of purchase. J.
