J. Scott Rupp announces retirement from Outdoor Sportsman Group

J. Scott Rupp has announced his retirement from the Outdoor Sportsman Group (OSG) following a 40-year career in outdoor and shooting magazine editing.

Rupp held several high-profile editorial roles, including editor in chief for RifleShooter, Handguns, and Guns & Ammo, as well as editor of Petersen’s Hunting. His career included serving as editorial director for Northwoods Group publications, such as Pennsylvania Sportsman, New York Sportsman, and Michigan Hunting & Fishing.

A former member of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, Rupp began his career after graduating from Eastern Kentucky University. His professional history includes tenures at the National Rifle Association, the Pennsylvania Game Commission, and Petersen Publishing Company. Beyond print, he spent nearly two decades in television as an executive producer and co-host for various programs.
