J2 League August Matches See Record Ticket Sales and New Entry System in Japan

Japanese J2 clubs are preparing for high‑attendance matches in August 2026. Vegalta Sendai announced a pre‑application system for the August 15 home game against Oita Trinita, allowing fans to request entry slots in advance and receive a sorting number via email. The scheme, optional but aimed at easing crowd flow, permits up to four people per request and includes early‑opening gates for popular fixtures.

Meanwhile, Yokohama FC reported that ticket issuance for its August 16 J2 match versus Júbilo Iwata at MUFG Stadium has risen from 42,945 on July 27 to 61,264 by August 5, surpassing 60,000 tickets. The club will add 300‑400 seats for certain categories and expects over 60,000 spectators, prompting warnings about congestion around the venue. Promotional activities such as a city‑wide light‑up in the club’s HAMABLUE colour accompany the event.

Both clubs anticipate large crowds and have implemented measures to manage entry and seating for the upcoming fixtures.
