Asian Games table tennis and J-League football updates

At the Asian Games in Nagoya, Chinese table tennis player Lin Shidong and partner Huang Youzheng secured the men's doubles gold medal after defeating the Japanese pair Tomokazu Harimoto and Taishi Shinozuka 4-2. Lin described the victory as a ‘new beginning’ and praised his opponents as ‘extremely excellent players’ in the current table tennis world.

In the women's singles, Japanese players Miwa Harimoto and Hina Hayata both earned bronze medals after falling to top-ranked Chinese players Wang Manyu and Sun Yingsha, respectively. Despite the losses, both athletes expressed determination as they prepare for the women's doubles event, where they aim to secure gold for Japan.

In Japanese football, various league updates were reported. In the J3 League, a highly competitive mid-table battle has emerged with eight teams separated by only three points. In the J2 League, Vegalta Sendai reclaimed the top spot following a 2-0 win over Iwaki FC, while RB Omiya Ardija rose to second place after a dominant 5-1 victory over Ventforet Kofu. Meanwhile, Albirex Niigata dropped to third place after a 2-2 draw with Blaublitz Akita.
