Ja Morant trade on table as Memphis Grizzlies seek deal, Miami Heat eyes the guard
The Memphis Grizzlies have confirmed that they are making point guard Ja Morant available for trade and expect to pursue a deal this offseason. NBA insider Evan Sidery wrote that “the relationship between the Grizzlies and Ja Morant hasn’t been repaired, and a trade will occur within the next month.”.
The Miami Heat have emerged as a potential destination. The Heat, already active in the market for stars such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, could add Morant if the Antetokounmpo pursuit stalls. Morant’s recent tenure in Memphis has been marked by a strained relationship with head coach Tuomas Iisalo, a suspension, and a decline in on‑court production, which may lower his trade value.
If a deal is reached, it would represent a significant roster shift for both franchises as the Grizzlies look to rebuild and the Heat seek to bolster their backcourt.
