Jaaved Jaaferi shares history of iconic song ‘Roop Tera Mastana’

Actor and dancer Jaaved Jaaferi has shared behind-the-scenes details regarding the creation of the iconic song ‘Roop Tera Mastana’ from the 1969 film Aradhana. During an upcoming episode of the reality show India's Best Dancer Season 5, Jaaferi explained that the track underwent a significant transformation from its original concept.

Originally composed by S. D. Burman as a folk-inspired number, the song was modernized by singer Kishore Kumar to give it a more contemporary sound. Jaaferi noted that Kumar’s versatility was instrumental in the final version's unique quality.

Additionally, Jaaferi revealed that the filming process was conducted under intense time pressure. Due to Sharmila Tagore’s busy schedule, her portions of the song were filmed in just a single day. Despite last-minute changes occurring throughout the recording and shooting processes, Jaaferi remarked that the pressure contributed to a fantastic final result.
