Jabalpur police arrest woman for honeytrapping and blackmailing businessman

Jabalpur police have arrested a woman, identified as Pooja Raidas, for allegedly honeytrapping and blackmailing a local businessman. Raidas, a resident of Umaria and a bar dancer, reportedly posed as a student on social media to establish a relationship with the victim, Sarthak Singh, approximately one year ago.

According to authorities, the suspect pressured Singh to divorce his wife and marry her, eventually demanding 20 lakh rupees. When the victim was unable to meet this demand, she allegedly threatened him with false police reports and rape accusations. A settlement was reportedly reached for 7 lakh rupees.

Acting on a complaint filed by Singh, the Kotwali police orchestrated a sting operation at the Hotel Kadamb Tree. Raidas was apprehended while accepting a bag containing 2.5 lakh rupees in cash. Police recovered the cash during the arrest and are currently investigating whether any accomplices were involved and reviewing the suspect's prior criminal records.
