Jabil expands manufacturing plant in Pune and launches AI‑enabled logistics hub in Penang

Jabil Inc. opened a new manufacturing facility in Pune, India, increasing its factory footprint from 500,000 to 1.2 million square feet and nearly doubling its workforce to about 11,000 employees. Executive Vice President of Operations Andy Priestley said the expansion reflects Jabil’s long‑term commitment to India’s growing role as a global manufacturing hub. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted the project’s contribution to job creation and the Make in India initiative.

In Malaysia, Jabil inaugurated a 417,000‑square‑foot Intelligent Logistics Hub in Penang’s Valdor Industrial Park. The AI‑driven facility features autonomous robots, automated storage and retrieval systems, and real‑time inventory tracking to improve supply‑chain resilience. Senior Vice President of Operations HH Yeo noted the hub addresses volatility and rising logistics costs, while Executive Chairman Dato’ Hj Abd Rahim bin Hj Jaafar praised the project’s role in supporting Malaysia’s economic growth and competitiveness.
