Jablonec nad Nisou announces traffic safety and infrastructure upgrades

Jablonec nad Nisou is implementing several infrastructure projects aimed at improving safety for children and managing urban traffic.

A major modernization project is underway for the children's traffic playground on Podskalí Street. With an estimated cost of 10 million CZK, the reconstruction is expected to be completed by 2028. The upgrades will include modern surfaces, updated lighting, new electrical installations, and improved traffic signaling. To reflect modern road conditions, the playground will feature updated traffic elements, including at least two high-quality cyclist intersections to help children practice safe decision-making.

Additionally, the city is adjusting traffic signage and parking regulations near the Basic School of Art (ZUŠ) on Korejská Street to enhance student safety. Changes include new parking layouts, designated spots for persons with disabilities, and updated signage to clarify traffic flow. Separately, ongoing excavation work related to high-voltage cable relocation is expected to cause traffic restrictions in several areas, including Palackého, Arbesova, and 1. máje streets, through October 28.
