JAC Caminhões launches truck distribution in Brazil
Chinese truck maker JAC Caminhões has begun delivering its first diesel‑powered trucks to Brazil, with the initial batch dispatched to a network of 30 dealerships across the country's major urban centers. The launch features four models ranging from 9 to 25 tonnes gross vehicle weight: N 9.170, N 13.210, A 18.290 and A 25.290, all equipped with Cummins engines and ZF, Eaton or Fast Gear transmissions.
Company General Director Miguel Xun said the operation, created in 2025, aims to capture 3 % of Brazil's truck market within three years and plans to start local SKD assembly when conditions allow. The trucks will be sold nationally from August, and the brand intends to develop engineering and product development locally, leveraging existing supplier relationships to reassure Brazilian customers.
