JAC-Emin Auto plant begins vehicle deliveries in Algeria
The JAC-Emin Auto assembly plant in Aïn Témouchent, Algeria, has entered its operational phase and is preparing to begin vehicle deliveries to customers. The restart follows the customs clearance of imported parts, providing enough kits to assemble approximately 3,500 units.
Production has reportedly been active for about ten days with an initial rate of 60 trucks per day, with plans to increase this to between 80 and 90 vehicles daily. The initial rollout features the JAC 1040S model, which will be available in various configurations including chassis, refrigerated, tipper, and container versions.
The project represents a private investment of 8 billion dinars across a 33-hectare site. Long-term objectives include reaching an annual production volume of 100,000 vehicles, with a goal of exporting 40% of production to African markets. The company also aims to increase the local integration rate to over 30% through future industrial development.
