JAC Motors shifts focus to pickups and reduces Brazilian presence

JAC Motors is undergoing a strategic repositioning in the Brazilian market, withdrawing its passenger car lineup and reducing its dealership network. The company has ceased the sale of the E-JS4 and E-J7 electric models, and the future of the E-JS1 remains uncertain.

As part of this restructuring, the brand is consolidating its physical presence. The Brasília dealership has closed, and operations in São Paulo are being unified into a single location. The company will maintain three primary sales points in São Paulo, Curitiba, and Porto Alegre, supported by 142 accredited service workshops and an increasing focus on online and remote sales.

Moving forward, JAC Motors will concentrate its Brazilian operations on the pickup truck and commercial vehicle segments. The company is prioritizing diesel-powered pickups and fully electric options, with the Hunter model serving as a central product in this new phase. This shift occurs as other Chinese manufacturers, such as BYD and GWM, expand their local production and electrified model offerings in the region.
