Jaca Mayor summoned to testify over Villanovilla urban planning investigation
The Mayor of Jaca, Carlos Serrano, and the former municipal head of Urbanism, José Luis Bartolomé, have been summoned to testify as part of a judicial investigation regarding construction activities in Villanovilla.
The investigation, stemming from a complaint by the Villanovilla Neighbors Association, examines urban planning actions on land classified as non-urbanizable with special landscape protection. The association alleges that unauthorized earthworks, road openings, and fencing have occurred.
Specific concerns involve licenses granted for tool sheds that neighbors claim are being used as residential dwellings. One particular building is cited as having two floors and over 60 square meters, despite an authorization that allegedly only permitted a single floor of 30 square meters. The association claims the property includes a kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom, suggesting residential use. The matter has been reported to various environmental and judicial authorities.
