Jacco Verhaeren to depart Visma-Lease a Bike

Jacco Verhaeren will depart from the Visma-Lease a Bike cycling team after serving one year as a sports director. Verhaeren has decided not to extend his contract, which is set to expire on December 31, 2026.

The former swimming coach, known for training Olympic gold medalists, stated that he concluded the team requires a different individual to lead its next phase of development. Team manager Richard Plugge praised Verhaeren as a “top coach” who contributed significantly to the transition and development of the team’s sports management. The team and Verhaeren will work together over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition.
