Jacek Ziober, former Polish international footballer, dies at 60

Former Polish international footballer Jacek Ziober has died at the age of 60 following a long and serious illness. His death was confirmed on October 6, 2026, by representatives of his former club, ŁKS Łódź.

Ziober was a prominent figure in European football during the late 1980s and early 1990s. He began his career at ŁKS Łódź before moving to France to play for Montpellier HSC between 1990 and 1994, where he scored 22 goals in 110 matches. He later played for CA Osasuna in Spain, where he was a key striker during the 1993-1994 season.

On the international stage, Ziober earned 46 caps for the Poland national team, scoring eight goals. After retiring from professional club football, which included a stint with the Tampa Bay Mutiny in the United States, he transitioned into coaching, notably serving as the coach for the Polish national beach soccer team.
