Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma faces scrutiny over government contracts
Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma, leader of the March and March Movement, and her husband Xolani Zuma are facing scrutiny regarding claims that they have received millions of rand in government contracts since 2021. The reports have raised questions about public procurement transparency, particularly as the movement has been a vocal critic of South African immigration laws and government regulations.
In a related development, Citizens Watch Zimbabwe (CWZ) has expressed support for the March and March Movement’s stance on migration issues. CWZ President Patience Chard argued that corruption, political repression, and the plunder of Zimbabwe’s mineral resources—including lithium, gold, and platinum—are primary drivers forcing Zimbabweans to seek asylum abroad.
CWZ has called on South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, in his capacity as chair of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), to engage Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa. The group is urging for democratic reforms, the rule of law, and more accountable governance to ensure Zimbabwe’s mineral wealth benefits the general population rather than a politically connected elite.
