Jack Burke and Janine Meyer set records at Ötztaler Radmarathon

The 45th Ötztaler Radmarathon took place on August 30, 2026, featuring 4,271 participants from 40 nations. The grueling 227-kilometer course through the Alps included 5,500 meters of elevation gain across four mountain passes: Kühtaisattel, Brenner, Jaufenpass, and Timmelsjoch.

In the men's category, Canadian cyclist Jack Burke secured victory after launching a decisive attack at the Jaufenpass. Burke set a new course record with a finishing time of 6:29:21.2, finishing 2 minutes and 35 seconds ahead of the previous year's winner, Daniel Federspiel of Austria. Miguel Brugger of Austria took third place.

In the women's category, Germany's Janine Meyer defended her dominance by setting a new course record. Meyer finished with a time of 7:15:46.2, breaking her own previous best mark. Eva Schien of Germany finished second, followed by Melanie Geiger of Austria in third place.
