Jack Daniel’s launches American Single Malt Whiskey nationwide
Jack Daniel’s has announced the nationwide US release of its American Single Malt Whiskey. Previously available only through select international duty-free locations, the limited-edition spirit will roll out across the country this fall.
The release follows the recent recognition of American Single Malt as an official whiskey category by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, marking the first new official US whiskey category in over 50 years. To qualify for this category, whiskeys must be distilled from 100% malted barley.
Produced at the distillery’s headquarters in Lynchburg, Tennessee, the whiskey is mellowed through sugar maple charcoal and aged in new, charred American oak. It features a unique finish in Oloroso sherry casks. The expression is bottled at 90 proof in one-liter formats with a suggested retail price of $74.99.
