Jack Doohan auditions for Haas F1 2027 seat

Jack Doohan is competing for a full-time seat with the Haas F1 Team for the 2027 season. Following his departure from Alpine last season, the Australian driver recently completed a TPC test at Jerez for the Banbury-based team, where he currently serves as a reserve driver.

Doohan faces competition from other drivers, including Ferrari junior Rafael Camara and McLaren reserve Leonardo Fornaroli, who have also participated in auditions for the team.

Haas Team Principal Ayao Komatsu stated that performance is the primary criterion for driver selection. He noted that while affiliations or sponsorship packages may be considered if performance levels are nearly identical, the team will not prioritize external connections over significant speed differences. Komatsu indicated that while a decision is expected, it will not be made imminently.
