British tennis player Jack Draper will compete in the Cincinnati Open next week, despite a recent emotional exit from the Canadian Open in Montreal where a recurrence of a bone bruise forced him to retire. The 24‑year‑old, who is currently ranked No. 143, missed the DC Open and withdrew from Wimbledon earlier in the season due to a wrist injury, and has struggled to maintain a consistent schedule over the past two years.

His participation in Cincinnati is intended to restore match rhythm and confidence before the US Open, where he also plans to play mixed doubles with Jessica Pegula. Draper will not be defending points from either the Canadian Open or the previous Cincinnati event, having missed both in 2025.
