Jack Draper to miss remainder of season, targeting 2027 return
British tennis player Jack Draper has announced he will end his 2026 season early, targeting a return to the ATP Tour at the start of 2027. The 24-year-old, who reached a career-high ranking of world No. 4, cited a combination of physical injuries and mental fatigue as the reasons for his decision.
Draper has been struggling with a chronic bone bruise in his left playing arm since the 2025 clay-court season, as well as tendinitis in his right knee. These injuries prevented him from competing in any Grand Slam tournaments during the 2026 season.
In a social media statement, Draper expressed a desire to “reset and heal” to ensure he can return at 100% capacity. He noted that while managing the adversity and pain has contributed to his personal growth, the cumulative exhaustion made it difficult to continue competing.
