Jack Miller nears move from MotoGP to Yamaha WorldSBK

Australian rider Jack Miller is reportedly nearing a transition from MotoGP to the FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) with Yamaha for the 2027 season. While official confirmation from Yamaha is pending, reports suggest an agreement was reached in August to continue the partnership following Miller's tenure with the Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP team.

Miller's potential move follows the expected departure of Xavi Vierge from the Pata Maxus Yamaha squad. Miller brings significant experience to the project, including familiarity with the Yamaha R1 through his participation in the Suzuka 8 Hours. He has also reportedly been in contact with Michelin, which is set to replace Pirelli as the tire supplier for WorldSBK in 2027.

However, the transition faces technical challenges. Current Yamaha rider Andrea Locatelli has expressed concerns regarding the competitiveness of the R1, noting that the current technical package struggles to secure podiums and that a third-place finish is currently comparable to a victory.
