Jack Osbourne discusses Ozzy Osbourne AI project and final concert
Jack Osbourne has addressed the backlash regarding a project to create an interactive, AI-powered avatar of his late father, Ozzy Osbourne. Speaking on the ‘Great Company’ podcast, Jack admitted that the criticism stemmed partly from his failure to properly explain the technology. He clarified that the intention is to use digital human technology to protect the musician’s image and intellectual property, rather than for commercial endorsements like selling mobile phones.
The digital recreation is intended to move, speak, and respond to fans using approved source material to replicate his likeness, voice, and mannerisms. Sharon Osbourne noted that the project would eventually allow fans to ask the digital version of Ozzy questions and hear responses in his voice.
Additionally, Jack revealed that doctors had warned Ozzy Osbourne against performing his final farewell concert due to serious health complications involving his heart and arteries. Despite being told the energy expenditure was unsafe, Ozzy insisted on performing. He passed away 17 days after that final show at the age of 76.
