Jack Shepherd jailed for assaulting partner with barbecue tongs

Jack Shepherd, a man previously convicted of manslaughter, has been sentenced to one year and eight months in prison followed by four years on an extended licence for the violent assault of his girlfriend.

During the incidents, which occurred in February and June of last year, Shepherd pinned down and punched the victim, a woman in her 50s. In a separate incident following a dispute over a burned pizza, Shepherd stabbed the woman in the left breast with sharp barbecue tongs, causing a permanent scar. Shepherd pleaded guilty to two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and property damage.

Shepherd, often referred to as the ‘speedboat killer,’ was originally sentenced to six years in 2018 for the manslaughter of Charlotte Brown, who died in a speedboat crash on the River Thames. He had previously fled to Georgia before being extradited to the UK. He also served time for a 2018 attack on a barman.
