Jack Shore launches Stand and Bang combat sports promotion

Former UFC fighter Jack Shore has launched a new combat sports promotion called ‘Stand and Bang’. The organization focuses exclusively on striking, intentionally excluding wrestling, grappling, or ground fighting to create a more accessible and dynamic viewing experience for audiences who may find traditional MMA technicalities less engaging.

The promotion’s inaugural event took place on August 22 in Ebbw Vale, featuring 23 matches held within a 20-foot ring. Fighters compete using MMA gloves, but judging criteria prioritize damage inflicted and striking efficiency over ring control or defensive maneuvers.

Shore, a Welsh fighter known as ‘The Tank’, transitioned into promoting after a career in the UFC and a period of coaching. He stated that his goal is to prioritize the fighter experience and spectator satisfaction, noting that he is willing to sacrifice a portion of profits to better support the athletes involved.
