Jack Thompson honored by Hollywood peers amid health struggles
Australian actor Jack Thompson has received tributes from international film industry figures celebrating his sixty-year career. The honors were delivered in his capacity as president of the Asia-Pacific Screen Academy.
Among the tributes were messages from Sean Penn and Russell Crowe. Crowe, who noted he first met Thompson on a film set in 1970 when he was six years old, described the actor as a mentor and a friend.
Despite the recognition, Thompson is currently managing significant health challenges, including undergoing dialysis every three days. The 86-year-old actor expressed a defiant attitude toward his condition, stating his intention to continue living life to the fullest.
