Jackie Chan death hoax debunked after viral social media claims
A viral social media hoax claiming that Hong Kong action star Jackie Chan has died has been debunked. The false reports, which featured a black-and-white image of the actor alongside the dates ‘1954-2026’, spread rapidly across various platforms.
One specific post on X, shared by a user named Abdul, reportedly garnered over 3.8 million views within five hours of being posted. Despite the widespread circulation of these memorial-style images, there is no credible evidence to support the claim that the 72-year-old actor has passed away.
Chan, whose real name is Fang Shilong, remains active in the entertainment industry. His most recent documented public appearance occurred in July in Singapore, where he made a surprise visit to Pei Chun Public School. During that event, organized by the Lim Family Foundation, he interacted with more than 900 students.
