Jackie Henderson alleges PTSD from bullying by Kyle Sandilands
Radio presenter Jackie “O” Henderson has filed an affidavit in the Federal Court alleging she suffered post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) due to “ongoing bullying” by former co-host Kyle Sandilands. The documents, released as part of her lawsuit against radio station owner ARN, include an expert report from psychiatrist Dr. Jonathan Phillips.
Dr. Phillips stated that Henderson’s PTSD resulted from Sandilands’ behavior, ARN’s failure to provide adequate protection, and the company’s public statements to the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) regarding her contract termination. Henderson described Sandilands as “unpredictable and erratic,” claiming his habit of belittling and humiliating her caused her to feel exhausted and unsafe.
The legal dispute follows the collapse of their KIIS FM show after an on-air incident in February where Sandilands criticized Henderson’s work ethic. While Sandilands reportedly reached a $12 million settlement with ARN after being accused of “serious misconduct,” Henderson is seeking at least $82.25 million for alleged breach of workplace rights and misleading statements.
