Jackie Shroff celebrates 25 years of the film Lajja
The film ‘Lajja’ has completed 25 years since its release in 2001. To mark the occasion, actor Jackie Shroff shared a montage video of clips from the film on his Instagram stories.
In the film, Jackie Shroff played the role of Raghunath (Raghu), an affluent NRI husband who mistreats his wife, Vaidehi (played by Manisha Koirala). The story follows Vaidehi as she flees to India to escape her husband's abuse and encounters other women—played by Madhuri Dixit, Rekha, and Mahima Chaudhary—who are also struggling against patriarchal oppression and domestic violence.
The film is noted for its ensemble cast, including Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, and Rekha, and for its message regarding women's empowerment and the social injustices faced by women.
