Jackky Bhagnani explains shelving of Shahid Kapoor film ‘Ashwatthama’

Producer Jackky Bhagnani has clarified why the ambitious film project ‘Ashwatthama: The Saga Continues’, starring Shahid Kapoor, was shelved. Bhagnani cited concerns regarding content originality following the release of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. He noted that for large-scale productions, audiences prioritize unique content over budget size, stating, “If it’s not unique, that money goes down the drain.”

Despite the cancellation of the mythological action project, Bhagnani confirmed that he and Kapoor, who have been friends for 20 years, are actively seeking the right professional opportunity to collaborate. Additionally, Bhagnani mentioned that the project ‘Suryaputra Mahavir Karna’, rumored to star Vikram, has been pushed for the time being.
