Bloodborne animated film reaches new production milestone

Producer Seán McLoughlin, known as Jacksepticeye, has confirmed that the R-rated animated film adaptation of the video game Bloodborne has made significant progress. A writer and a director have now been attached to the project, marking a major step forward since Sony first announced the adaptation at CinemaCon in April.

McLoughlin stated that the production is much further along the pipeline than previously reported, with more of the story mapped out and key personnel in place. While he expressed a desire to share more details, he noted that he is withholding specific names and story teases to maintain excitement for the project.

The film is being produced by PlayStation Productions, Lyrical Animation, and McLoughlin. It aims to remain true to the gothic horror tone of the original 2015 FromSoftware title, which is set in the decaying city of Yharnam.
