Australian boxer Jackson England is set to face unbeaten Kazakh southpaw Sultan Zaurbek in an IBF super featherweight world title eliminator on the Gold Coast. The bout, which has been 15 months in the making, carries significant implications for the division.

The winner of the match will earn mandatory status, positioning them for a potential three-belt world title fight. Promoter and trainer Noel Thornberry noted that a victory could lead to a ‘seven-figure fight’ against the winner of the upcoming clash between Emanuel Navarrete and O'Shaquie Foster.

The event was moved to Queensland following a purse bid won by $14,000, supported by backing from Western Australian mining figure Sean Spence. Thornberry expressed intent to seek a deal with Matchroom Boxing to stage future high-stakes bouts in Australia should England succeed.
