Jackson Koivun Wins 3M Open, Secures FedEx Cup Playoff Spot

Jackson Koivun, a 21‑year‑old former No. 1 amateur, captured his first PGA Tour victory at the 3M Open in Blaine, Minnesota. He posted a 25‑under‑par total at TPC Twin Cities, beating world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler by three strokes and moving from No. 206 to No. 73 in the Official World Golf Ranking. The win grants Koivun a two‑year tour exemption, an invitation to the Masters, and a place in the FedEx Cup playoff race.

During the final round, Scheffler’s long‑time caddie Ted Scott left the tournament early, heading to the airport after believing Scheffler’s chances were over. Executive director Hollis Cavner confirmed Scott’s departure, noting the caddie’s confidence that the leader would hold on. Scheffler will resume play at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, the first of three playoff events.
