Jackson Nascimento, football legend, dies at 102
Jackson Nascimento, a legendary former footballer for Athletico Paranaense and Corinthians, has died at the age of 102. He passed away in Camboriú, Santa Catarina, following recent difficulties with eating and swallowing.
Nascimento holds a significant place in Athletico Paranaense history, where he scored 150 goals in 215 matches, making him the club’s second-highest all-time scorer. He was also the top scorer in the ‘Atletiba’ derby against Coritiba, with 15 goals. His career with the club spanned several decades, beginning in 1944.
In 1950, he moved to Corinthians, where he played 57 matches and scored 35 goals. During his tenure with the São Paulo club, he won the Campeonato Paulista in 1951. His burial is expected to take place at the Água Verde Cemetery in Curitiba.
