Jackson State defeats Florida A&M 27-17 in homecoming victory

Jackson State secured a 27-17 homecoming win over Florida A&M at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium. Despite trailing 17-12 entering the fourth quarter, the Tigers mounted a comeback fueled by a dominant ground attack that totaled 228 rushing yards and controlled the clock for over 36 minutes.

The decisive momentum shift occurred when Jared Lockhart threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Jabari Jones, followed by a two-point conversion to give Jackson State a 20-17 lead. The Tigers' defense then secured the win by forcing four turnovers, including a fumble recovery by Terrance Hibbler Jr. and two late interceptions by B. J. Washington and Mikey Johnson.

Florida A&M briefly led in the third quarter following an 81-yard touchdown run by Jamal Hailey, who finished with 111 rushing yards. While the Rattlers' defense held Jackson State to 140 passing yards, they were unable to contain the Tigers' final 15-point surge in the closing period.
