Giants and Dolphins joint practice features brawl and mixed offensive results

The New York Giants and Miami Dolphins held a joint preseason practice that was marked by both physical intensity and on-field conflict. A significant brawl broke out during the session, with Jameis Winston reportedly throwing a punch at a Dolphins player before being involved in a skirmish himself. Giants head coach John Harbaugh noted that while the environment is violent, the team decided that anyone throwing punches would be treated as if they had committed a foul during a game.

On the field, the Giants' offense showed signs of progress. Quarterback Jaxson Dart delivered a strong performance, completing 17 of 21 passes and demonstrating efficiency against the Dolphins' secondary. Conversely, the Dolphins' offense struggled with consistency and pass protection. Quarterback Malik Willis described the offensive performance as “up and down,” noting that the Giants' defensive front provided a significant challenge.

Despite the struggles for Miami's offense, rookie linebacker Jacob Rodriguez emerged as a standout performer, recording an interception during the practice. The session served as a high-stakes environment for players competing for roster spots ahead of the upcoming preseason games.
