Jacksonville Jaguars and Cleveland Browns prepare for Week 1 matchup

The Jacksonville Jaguars and Cleveland Browns are finalizing their rosters ahead of their upcoming Week 1 matchup. The Jaguars have selected eight of their ten 2026 draft picks and one undrafted free agent for their initial 53-man roster.

Among the Jaguars' newcomers, tight end Nate Boerkircher is expected to play a significant role in the team’s ‘package 12’ formation, primarily contributing to the running game. Additionally, guard Emmanuel Pregnon is projected to start the first match due to his performance in run-blocking. Other rookies, such as Wesley Williams and Albert Regis, are expected to see more limited action as they develop.

The Cleveland Browns, currently the third-youngest roster in the league, are also preparing for the season. Running back Jaleel McLaughlin has joined the Browns' practice squad as a veteran addition following his release from the Denver Broncos. McLaughlin could serve as a key depth option in the event of injuries to the running back room, which features Quinshon Judkins, Dylan Sampson, and Raheim Sanders.
