Jacksonville Jaguars face injury concerns and roster shifts during training camp

The Jacksonville Jaguars are navigating various challenges during their NFL training camp as they prepare for joint practices and a preseason matchup against the New Orleans Saints.

A primary concern for the team is a growing number of injuries within the offensive line. Head coach Liam Coen noted that the unit is becoming ‘thin,’ forcing more repetitions onto players who may not be fully prepared for the increased workload. This injury trend has impacted practice depth, involving veterans such as Cole Van Lanen and Patrick Mekari.

Despite these setbacks, several players are making strides in the official depth charts. Travis Hunter has transitioned from receiver to a significant role as a starting cornerback, a move Coen noted shows great potential. Additionally, rookie Jabbar Muhammad has earned a spot on the second-team cornerback unit, while defensive tackle Ruke Orhorhoro and offensive lineman Wyatt Milum are working to solidify their positions during upcoming joint sessions.
