Jacksonville Jaguars' Travis Hunter records first career interception
Jacksonville Jaguars defensive back Travis Hunter recorded his first career NFL interception during a game against the New England Patriots, intercepting quarterback Drake Maye. Following the play, Hunter attempted to spin the football on the ground as part of a celebration.
A confrontation occurred on the sideline when an unidentified New England Patriots employee working as a ball boy picked up the football. Jaguars defensive end Josh Hines-Allen approached the staffer to retrieve the ball for Hunter, leading to a brief physical tussle near a stadium tunnel. The interaction, which included verbal accusations of pushing, was eventually broken up by Jaguars equipment manager George Pellicer.
In separate AFC news, Houston Texans defensive end Will Anderson Jr. recorded 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble in a 19-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud praised Anderson’s leadership and the performance of the tight end unit.
