Jacob Geller removed from MinnMax following resurfaced sexual assault records

YouTuber and video game essayist Jacob Geller has been removed from the MinnMax podcast, Nebula, and Cane and Rinse following the resurfacing of university disciplinary records. The records from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill indicate that Geller received a one-semester suspension in 2016 for sexual assault or sexual violence.

Geller confirmed the details of the record via a post on Bluesky, stating that the suspension is his “greatest regret.” The records became publicly available due to a 2020 North Carolina Supreme Court ruling that required the university to release limited information regarding students found responsible for sexual misconduct.

MinnMax announced Geller’s departure on October 1, 2026, noting that the publication of that week’s episode was canceled. The podcast expressed that leadership was “deeply hurt” by the situation following internal discussions regarding the allegations.
