Jacob Lassen tops Bundesliga assist list after Rhein-Neckar Löwen debut

Jacob Lassen has secured the top position on the Handball-Bundesliga assist list following a successful debut for Rhein-Neckar Löwen. In the opening round of the season, the Danish player recorded seven assists, creating a significant lead over his competitors.

Following Lassen, players Fynn Hangstein of Bergischer HC, Gísli Kristjánsson of SC Magdeburg, and Niels Versteijnen of TBV Lemgo Lippe are tied with five assists each. Other notable players, including Mathias Gidsel and Simon Pytlick, recorded three assists in the first round.

Lassen’s performance marks a strong start for the new Rhein-Neckar Löwen signing, who was brought in as part of a squad reinforcement strategy. He has immediately taken over the playmaker role from his teammate Haukur Thrastarson, who was the league's assist leader in the previous season.
