Jacob Misiorowski of Brewers throws 105 mph record fastball

Milwaukee Brewers right‑hander Jacob Misiorowski set a new record for a starting pitcher by delivering a 105 mph fastball against the Philadelphia Phillies. The pitch, thrown on a 2‑2 count to Kyle Schwarber, contributed to a 6‑0 shutout win and a career‑high 15 strikeouts in a complete‑game effort.

Misiorowski, who entered the game believing he could reach 104‑105 mph, told host Mookie Betts on the podcast “On Base with Mookie Betts” that he “think[s] it’s 104 or 105. I think I can touch five.” He later noted, “I don’t think it’s going to be many players who can sustain 100 mph, but it may become more common for starters.” The outing added to his league‑leading 1.34 ERA, 131 strikeouts and an 8‑2 record, putting him firmly in the Cy Young conversation alongside Phillies ace Christopher Sanchez.

During the game Misiorowski threw 95 pitches, 69 of them fastballs, with 58 exceeding 100 mph and 12 of his strikeouts coming from those high‑velocity pitches. His performance joins Ben Sheets and Corbin Burnes as the only pitchers to record 15 strikeouts in a single game for the Brewers.
