Jacob Misiorowski Sets Record Fastball Speed for Starting Pitchers

Milwaukee Brewers right‑hander Jacob Misiorowski threw a 103.7 mph fastball on June 7, 2026, the fastest pitch recorded by a starting pitcher since MLB began tracking velocity in 2008. The record‑breaking pitch came in the third inning against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field and helped Milwaukee secure a 7–1 victory.

Misiorowski has logged 28 pitches of 103 mph or higher this season, accounting for the vast majority of the 30 such throws by starters since tracking began. He has posted a 1.50 ERA with a 0.81 WHIP over 78 innings, striking out 116 batters. Earlier in the season he struck out 11 in six scoreless innings versus the New York Yankees, also reaching 103 mph three times.

After the game Misiorowski said, “It’s what it is. I’m going to keep going, trying to get strikeouts, and if that’s what it takes to get strikeouts, then so be it.” Brewers manager Pat Murphy praised his velocity but emphasized the need for command, noting, “He’s got to throw the ball in the zone and throw his other pitches in the zone.”
