Jacob Saifiti named in Fiji World Cup squad

Jacob Saifiti has been named in the Fiji squad for the upcoming Rugby League World Cup. The Newcastle Knights prop joins the team following the completion of a four-match suspension.

Saifiti’s inclusion provides significant depth to the forward pack, particularly as the squad faces the unavailability of Tui Kamikamica due to illness and Viliame Kikau due to a fractured eye socket. Saifiti is expected to be available for Fiji’s opening match against the Cook Islands in Newcastle on October 18.

The leaked 23-man squad, coached by Mick Potter, also features NRL players such as Api Koroisau, Sunia Turuva, and Kurt Donoghoe. The selection remains subject to final eligibility and integrity clearances.
