Jacob Wilson sets MLB record for errorless games at shortstop

Oakland Athletics shortstop Jacob Wilson set a new Major League Baseball record by playing 111 consecutive games at the position without committing an error. This achievement surpasses the previous record of 110 games set by Mike Bordick in 2002.

Wilson reached this milestone during a 4-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. The win allowed the Athletics to secure two out of three games in Boston, ending a 12-series losing streak. The game's deciding run came in the ninth inning via a double from Max Muncy against Aroldis Chapman, while Hogan Harris earned his 11th save.

In addition to the defensive milestone, Athletics second baseman Jeff McNeil recorded his 1,000th career hit during the eighth inning.
