Two investigators from the Michoacán State Attorney General's Office (FGE) and one suspect were injured during a shootout in the El Bosque neighborhood of Jacona.
The confrontation occurred on Araucaria Street while agents were attempting to execute an arrest warrant for Jorge Luis ‘N’, a man wanted for his alleged involvement in attempted qualified homicide. During the operation, agents were attacked with gunfire but managed to repel the assault and detain the suspect.
The two agents and the suspect were transported to a hospital in Zamora; all three are reported to be in stable condition. Authorities recovered an AR-15 style rifle at the scene, believed to have been used in the attack. A prosecution vehicle also sustained damage from gunfire. The suspect will be presented before a judicial authority to determine his legal status.
