JaCorey Thomas commits to West Virginia University

Former Georgia Bulldogs defensive back JaCorey Thomas has committed to West Virginia University (WVU) for his fifth year of eligibility. Thomas, a four-star recruit from Orlando, Florida, previously played four seasons for Georgia, recording 45 tackles and a sack during the 2025 season.

Following the 2026 NFL Draft, where he went undrafted, Thomas participated in a rookie minicamp for the Carolina Panthers. Because he did not sign an NFL contract and only received travel expenses and a per diem, his legal standing regarding college eligibility differs from players who signed professional contracts.

Thomas secured a temporary restraining order in Texas against the NCAA to regain eligibility after a ruling regarding 2022 signees. Following the legal development, he entered the transfer portal and chose the Mountaineers.
